Dr. Kano joined the faculty in 1994 after finishing his residency at Sutter Merced. He graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin and is currently the quality assurance director of the residency Family Care Clinic. In 1995, he also completed a fellowship in faculty development at the University of California, San Francisco.
