Isaac Kim, M.D.

I came to this residency for the opportunity to teach and maintain a private practice in a community where the family physician plays a prominent role in the delivery of quality health care. Since my medical student days I have been drawn to family medicine for its emphasis on comprehensive, practical, and patient-centered medicine. I enjoy my current work as a faculty physician as well as a community physician in private practice. After college at the University of Chicago, I attended Texas Tech University School of Medicine. I completed my internship in the U.S. Army and finished residency at the Reading Hospital in Pennsylvania. I served the U.S. Army primarily at Fort Bragg, North Carolina before coming to Merced in September 2004.

I enjoy teaching our residents and stay active with residency activities. I take interest in a broad array of primary care topics, especially inpatient medicine and chronic disease care. I enjoy sharing clinical pearls and watching younger physicians grow as clinicians.

I spend much of my time with my wife and three young children. We stay involved in our local community church. Feel free to contact me at Isaac.Kim@chw.edu .
