The UCD Network of Family Practice Residency Programs sponsors two Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) courses each academic year. Designed after other advanced life support programs such as ACLS, ATLS and PALS, the ALSO course assists health professionals in developing and maintaining the knowledge and skills they will need to effectively manage the emergencies which will arise in obstetrics. This course has been approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians for 16 hours of category 1 credit.
