Duane D. Bland, M.D.- Program Director Dr. Bland is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine, class of 1990. He graduated from Redding's Shasta-Cascade Family Practice Residency Program in 1993. He worked for four years at a community/migrant health center in rural Okanogan practicing a full scope of family practice including obstetrics. While there he served as clinic medical director and was an active member on the board of directors for a state wide community health center owned managed care organization. He returned to Redding in 1998 as a full time faculty for the family practice residency program and then completed the Northern California Faculty Development Fellowship through the University of California San Francisco and a fellowship with the National Institute for Program Director Development. He has been active in rural health as the director of the rural rotation and board member for the Northern Sierra Rural Health Network. He has coordinated several grants for the residency program focusing on medical technology including telehealth and hand-held computers. His other interests include hiking, skiing, tennis, and spending quality time with his wife and three children. |
