Rachel T. Anderson, D.O. Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Vallejo, CA:
Rachel received her B.S. degree in Human Development from UC Davis.
Prior to medical school, she worked with a team of health care professionals
caring for hospitalized pediatric patients at Mercy San Juan Hospital and
volunteered for Airlifeline and the Dominican Hospital ED. She has extensive
experience in restaurant management. Rachel’s interests include gymnastics,
travel, exercise and spending time with family and friends.
Rabab Mohamed Radwan, M.D. University of Alexandria, Egypt: After graduating from medical school, Rabab worked as a General Practioner for the Egyptian Ministry of Health and then joined an Oncology and Radiotherapy Residency Program at Alexandria University School of Medicine. After moving to the United States, she made arrangements through Xavier University to obtain extensive hands on medical experiences in various hospital and clinical settings in Oregon and Washington. She visits the Redding area on regular basis. She enjoys oil painting, classical music and opera. Erica Simpson, D.O. Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Vallejo, CA: Erica received her BS in biology from the University of Nevada Reno, Nevada. She has worked as an EKG technician, a nutrition teacher for teenage mothers. She has contributed to several publications and volunteered with student groups at Touro. Erica enjoys cross country skiing and competed in Junior Nationals in Nordic skiing. She also enjoys backpacking, biking and crafts such as scrapbooks and sewing. After graduation from residency, Erica would like to return to a small town like the one she grew up in. Shekiba Shahabzada, M.D. Ross University, Dominica: Shekiba received her BS in Biochemistry from UC Davis. She was a research assistant in a Reproductive Endocrinology Lab at ITEH in Davis, Ca. She also was a research assistant for a Hepatitis C clinic. She has also volunteered with John Muir Hospital and UC Davis. Shekiba enjoys drawing, yoga, tennis, bowling and outdoor activities. Benjamin Shettell, M.D. University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine, Vancouver, BC: He received his BS in Zoology from Brigham Young University. He has worked as an ecology research technician and has worked as an anatomy lab teaching assistant. Ben enjoys teaching Sunday school and volunteering with the Boy Scouts. He was a missionary in the Philippines for two years and worked in local hospitals and schools. Benjamin enjoys painting, wood working and home renovating, piano, skiing and traveling. Benjamin would like to practice in a rural community. Alireza Shoja, M.D. Islamic Azad University-Najafabad Branch, Iran: After medical school Alireza worked for two years in a rural area of Iran. He moved to Canada and worked as primary care physician and obtained training in the ED. Alireza has performed research and gained additional clinical experience at the Long Beach VA Medical Center and Chino Valley Medical Center. Alrieza is a member of Doctors without Borders and has volunteered with The Immigrant Single Mother’s Protection program and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoys basketball, swimming, skiing and web design. Sharon Oates Pena, M.D. University of California, Davis: Sharon received her BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UC Santa Cruz and her MA at CSU, San Francisco. She completed a one year OB internship at UCLA and has since taken time off to raise a family. She enjoys hiking, reading, snow skiing, gardening and travel. |
