San Joaquin General Hospital, established in 1857, is located in rural French Camp just south of Stockton, California. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and the California Medical Association. It provides a complete range of medical services for part-pay, full-pay and indigent patients.

In March 1996, a new state of the art hospital opened. The new hospital houses the emergency department with 18 treatment rooms; an 11-bed Intensive Care Unit with advanced design for patient monitoring; a new Labor and Delivery unit, two 25 bed Medical/Surgical Units, and an upgraded Radiology department. The old hospital building still houses a 32 bed Intensive Care Nursery and the Pediatric Unit.

In December 1999, the Cesar Chavez Family Practice Clinic was relocated to a state of the art outpatient facility adjacent to the hospital. A conference room, library/preceptor room, procedure room and 15 exam rooms are part of the Cesar Chavez Family Practice Center.
In September 2003 a new Pediatrics outpatient center opened in the nearby city of Stockton.
